Visitors prevail at Portman Road
Town closed out pre-season with a 3-0 defeat to Millwall at Portman Road.
A brace from Benik Afobe and one from Jed Wallace saw the visitors run out comfortable winners over Paul Cook's side.
Conor Chaplin came on in the second half for his first appearance in a Town shirt; the forward having signed for the Club from Barnsley on Tuesday.
Vaclav Hladky made a smart stop in just the eighth minute when he stuck a leg out to block George Saville's low header.
Fourteen minutes later Joe Pigott tried his luck from outside the area, but former Town shot-stopper, Bartosz Bialkowski, comfortably gathered.
Millwall's Danny McNamara was booked just after the half-hour mark for a rash challenge on Armando Dobra.
In the 37th minute the hosts almost scored one straight off the training pitch, but Wes Burns' improvised toe poke struck the foot of the post.
And two minutes after Millwall broke the deadlock. Hladky got to his right and saved well, but Afobe comfortably swept in the rebound from close range.
Three minutes after half-time Lee Evans forced Bialkowski into a save with a well-struck free-kick from about 30 yards out.
Two goals in four minutes then put the away side in complete control. Afobe capped off a smart move by firing in with 50 played, before the Lions caught Town out with a quick corner and Wallace drilled into the back of the net on 54.
Chaplin and Vincent-Young combined well with 17 minutes left to play, but the latter's effort from the middle of the penalty box was blocked.
A total of 17 players were used on the day as Cook continued to get his side prepared for the first game of the League One season next Saturday.
