"What’s happened has gone now and I have to show my best again"

Vaclav Hladky says that he is looking to build on an impressive 2020/21 campaign when he lines up for Town next term.

The Czech goalkeeper became the fifth signing under the Gamechanger 20 Ltd ownership on Tuesday evening, joining on an undisclosed fee from Salford.

Although The Ammies finished just outside the League Two play-offs, Vaclav was an ever-present and kept more clean sheets than any other 'keeper in the division.

He also played a pivotal role in winning the delayed 2019/20 EFL Trophy final against Portsmouth, coming up with a crucial save in the penalty shootout on the way to Wembley glory.

"From my personal point of view, it was a really successful season," Vaclav, who has signed a three-year deal at Town, told iFollow Ipswich.

"We wanted to reach promotion but unfortunately it didn’t happen. It was a nice year and I met really nice people around the Club but then Ipswich came and offered me this opportunity and I was keen to take it.

"It’s a huge stadium with a great community and a great fanbase.

"What’s happened has gone now and I have to show my best again. I’m really looking forward to doing that."
