Young Blues return to winning ways
Town U23s came from behind to beat Charlton 2-1 this afternoon.
Goals from Armando Dobra and Levi Andoh completed a second-half turnaround for Kieron Dyer's side in a Professional Development League Two affair.
The young Blues named a strong starting line-up, with David Cornell, Tristan Nydam, Dobra and Oli Hawkins all involved from the first whistle.
Hawkins was in the thick of the action early on as he latched on to a cross from the left side before seeing a first-time effort well saved by Nathan Harness in the Addicks net.
The hosts then went straight up the other end and opened the scoring, with Mason Burstow firing in.
It remained that way until half-time, with Town enjoying plenty of possession but Charlton standing firm defensively.
Junior Quitirna threatened to add a second for the hosts early in the second half as he created two opportunities for himself, but he was unable to hit the target at either time of asking.
Town then got themselves level 10 minutes after the restart through Dobra, as he drilled past Harness.
And with 20 left to play the turnaround was complete. Charlton failed to clear their lines following a delivery from the left, with Andoh doing brilliantly to divert the ball into the bottom corner from close range.
The Addicks searched for a second and went close through Charlie Barker in the dying stages, but his header near the back post looped over Cornell's crossbar.
The three points sees Town hold on to second spot in the PDL2 South table, with Dyer's side next in action when they host Bristol City at Playford Road on 6 April.
