"We have a lot to improve on from Tuesday night but this is a group where everyone wants to do better"
Kayden Jackson acknowledged that Town must respond to Tuesday night's defeat against Fleetwood with a much better performance against Portsmouth tomorrow.
Blues came away from Highbury Stadium empty handed, but had put in encouraging displays against Lincoln and Plymouth that saw them pick up four points from the two games before the long midweek trip.
Victory at Fratton Park this weekend could see Paul Cook's side move back into the top six, while Pompey would leapfrog Town if they were to take the spoils in the 1pm kick-off on the South Coast.
"At this stage of the season we need to win more games," Kayden told iFollow Ipswich.
"Every game is massive but there aren't many bigger ones than Portsmouth away in this division. We need a response.
"We have a lot to improve on from Tuesday night but this is a group where everyone wants to do better.
"Portsmouth will be a dangerous team and they'll be right up for it. There's talk of a manager going in and whether he's taking the game tomorrow or not, it'll be a big test for us."
