MARK IN REPUBLIC OF IRELAND U21 SQUAD

18 March 2021

McGuinness given the nod for friendly

Mark McGuinness has been named in the Republic of Ireland U21 squad for their international friendly camp against Wales.

The central defender, who is on loan at Town from Arsenal for the 2020/21 season, will join up with his international teammates on Monday, 22 March ahead of a friendly with Wales in Wrexham on Friday, 26 March.

The date of the friendly means Mark could, in theory, be available for selection when Town face Wigan on 27 March, although this is of course just one day after the clash in Wales.

The 20-year-old has earned one cap for his country at U21s level, as he featured in a 2-1 over Luxembourg in November last year.

Mark has made 18 appearances for Town so far this term, scoring one goal.
