PAUL ON STRENGTH OF TOWN SQUAD

5 March 2021

"Whilst we want to keep making hay while the sun is shining, the reality is that if we have to change the team at some point, we have strong players looking to get in"

Paul Cook has highlighted the strength in depth of the first-team squad at Town.

The new Blues boss takes charge of his first match tomorrow afternoon away to Gillingham, with Town having named an unchanged line-up for the last three outings - all of which they have won.

"The thing is, when you're winning you won't see many changes in the team," Paul told iFollow Ipswich.

"But we know we have those options and other clubs aren't as fortunate as us in that area.

"Whilst we want to keep making hay while the sun is shining, the reality is that if we have to change the team at some point, we have strong players looking to get in.

"The games are there for everyone and it's a tough schedule and there are some long journeys as well.

"We have to try and keep the lads positive and fresh. Gillingham will be a tough trip, they all are, but if we can get a win then it'll put us in a strong position for the Lincoln game on Tuesday."
