Nico Valentine, Elkan Baggott and an own goal saw Town topple the Blades to set up a meeting with the Reds.
The young Blues are the only EFL side remaining in the competition and have been since the quarter-final stage.
Should Town beat Liverpool, they will face either Aston Villa or West Brom in the final.
