ROBBO ON FLEETWOOD VICTORY

9 May 2021

"I thought we played well today and it was nice to keep our unbeaten home record"

First-team coach Gary Roberts said it was important Town closed out the 2020/21 season on a positive note.

Blues ended the campaign with three points at home to Fleetwood thanks to an impressive first-half display which saw James Norwood, Gwion Edwards and Troy Parrott all net for the hosts.

The Cod Army got one back in the second half through Wes Burns, but Town comfortably held on for a 3-1 victory at Portman Road.

"I thought we played well today and it was nice to keep our unbeaten home record," Robbo told iFollow Ipswich.

"Overall we've played well at home since we arrived and it was important that we closed the campaign in a good way.

"The lads did well and we started really quickly which was good to see. We fizzled out a bit in the second half but overall it was a good performance.

"A clean sheet would have been nice; we've had a good number of them, but you take the win of course."
