Club seeking welcoming environment for young players in 21/22

Ipswich Town is looking for host families who can provide a warm and welcoming environment for our young players as they continue their full-time football development for the 2021/22 season and beyond.

Lodgings should provide a suitable and safe environment with easy access to the training ground (Playford Road, IP4 5RQ). Transport to and from the host family each day for the players is provided by the Club. The accommodation should be a room which the young player(s) will not share with anyone else.

Access to public transport and local amenities is desirable. Accommodation is required six nights a week during the football season (usually last week in June until second week in May) or, for those players living further away from home, for seven nights per week. The host is required to provide high quality nutritional breakfasts and evening meals with occasional lunches.

We are looking for a ‘home away from home’ for our players. Hosts are encouraged to include young players in family life and young players are expected to respect their host family’s way of life.

This is a very rewarding role and can obviously make a big impact on the lives and development of our young players. In return the Club will provide host families with monthly payments across a 12-month contract period, as well as the necessary training to ensure you understand the needs of an elite athlete. Players are aged between 16 and 20 years.

All potential families will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, and must provide satisfactory references. It must be a non-smoking household.

We are also looking for homes that can provide temporary accommodation paid on a nightly basis.
