5 May 2021

Young Blues remain second following draw

A late penalty forced Town U18s to settle for a point against Swansea this afternoon.

The young Blues took the lead through Tyrese Osbourne on the hour mark, but it finished 1-1 as The Swans netted via the spot in the second minute of stoppage time.

Osbourne's goal came after he followed in a loose ball following Finn Barbrook's attempt to break through the Swansea defence.

The result leaves Adem Atay's side, who have a Youth Cup semi-final to look forward to, in second place in the Professional Development League Two South division.

The date of the FA Youth Cup semi-final, which will be held at Portman Road, will be announced in due course.

Town: Ridd, Nwabueze, Cousens (O'Neill 57'), Stephenson, Bradshaw [pictured], H. Barbrook, Moodie, F. Barbrook, Osbourne, Buabo (Boastwain 57'), Hoque (Valentine 57').
