"He's been an integral part of the squad and Club while he has been here"
Town boss Paul Cook has praised Stephen Ward for how the full-back has conducted himself at the Club this season.
It was announced earlier this week that the 35-year-old would not be offered a new contract at the Club for the 2021/22 campaign.
Wardy, a former Republic of Ireland international, joined Town in August last year and made 31 appearances in a Blues shirt.
"Wardy is an exemplary player and person," Paul told iFollow Ipswich.
"He's only been here a short time but he has been a fantastic servant for us.
"Stephen has indicated that he wants to carry on playing for another year or two and we wish him every good fortune doing that.
"He'll be at the game on Sunday supporting his teammates and I think they'll go for a meal and a drink after the game because he's been an integral part of the squad and Club while he has been here.
"He certainly leaves with my very best wishes."
