BLUEY JOINS IN LITTER PICK FOR CHILDREN IN NEED

19 November 2021

Town mascot joins litter pick, supporting excellent cause

Town mascot, Bluey, joined ‘Rubbish Walks’ in a litter pick around Ipswich earlier today, supporting BBC Children in Need Day 2021.

Rubbish Walks, founded by Blues fan Jason Alexander, are an award-winning social enterprise based in Suffolk, who are dedicated to raising awareness around the issues single use plastic and general litter causes.

The Rubbish Walks Team began at Morrisons on Sproughton Road and paraded towards the Ipswich town centre, wearing Pudsey Bear onesies and carrying Children in Need donation buckets. The group passed Portman Road, where Club mascot Bluey was ready and waiting to give a helping hand in the clearing of litter in public areas around the Club, all while taking donations for Children in Need from members of the public.

The Club is proud to be assisting in the raising of awareness of Children in Need, who are a charity ran by the BBC with a clear mission in removing barriers faced by young people through the funding of local charities and projects. Children in Need raise money throughout the year for children who need it most; however, their annual appeal looks to raise as much as possible to support the vital work that is done.
