"We’re a new bunch of lads but everybody is already so close"

Conor Chaplin believes team spirit at Town is growing both on and off the pitch.

With the season now in full swing, the Blues head into a busy period looking to build on strong recent form.

Paul Cook's side have picked up six wins from the last 10 League games, with just two defeats, and host Oxford United at home this weekend.

"The gaffer has said our consistency is our inconsistency at the moment, and that’s something we need to change as we look to climb the League table," Conor told the Club website.

"But, if you look at the last 10 games, we’re on a good run in terms of how many matches we’ve won, and the number of points we have picked up.

"I think you’ve seen that with how we have gone up a bit in the League so that’s something we’re looking to build on as we’re nowhere near where we want to be as a club and as a group of players in the changing room as well.

"We're getting stronger, though. We know we're in a good place because the vibe is good, and now we are trying to improve in training every day - as a team and as individuals.

"We’re a new bunch of lads but everybody is already so close, on and off the pitch, which is really pleasing.

"We like to play an attacking brand of football for the fans but the bottom line is that we want to win. Fingers crossed that it’s something we can keep building on."
