PAUL | TEAM SELECTION WILL SHOW WE'RE TAKING THE CUP SERIOUSLY

5 November 2021

“We are approaching tomorrow’s game as if it’s the biggest game of our season"

Paul Cook would love nothing more than a cup run for Town this season.

The Blues begin their Emirates FA Cup journey at home to Oldham Athletic tomorrow, with the boss indicating that his squad selection will show the Club's intentions in the competition.

“We told our supporters at the start of the season when we’d be making changes. We told them the level of seriousness with which we’ll take each competition. That's very much the case," Paul told iFollow Ipswich.

“We are approaching tomorrow’s game as if it’s the biggest game of our season and that will be reflected in the team selection.

"This year we want to be promoted. There’s nothing else on our radar other than promotion. Having said that, the FA Cup is very much second on the list.

"I'd love for us to go on a bit of a run and set up a tie that really excites the supporters.

"But we have to overcome Oldham first of all. We're under no illusions - tomorrow will be a test. We need to be up for it."

Tickets for tomorrow's tie are available to purchase here.
