PAUL RELISHING BLACK CATS TEST

19 November 2021

"Yes it's another three points on the line, as is the case in any League game, but everyone is excited"

Paul Cook believes this weekend's clash with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light is one of the highlights in the League One fixture schedule.

Just two places separate the sides in the League table ahead of the meeting, with The Black Cats in seventh and Town ninth.

The Blue Army will once again be travelling in their numbers, with just over 2,000 making the journey north - a sell out in the away end.

"We can talk about fixtures being just another game but this is certainly one to look forward to," Paul told iFollow Ipswich.

"Yes it's another three points on the line, as is the case in any League game, but everyone is excited.

"The supporters will be excited as well. It's a great fixture and should be a great game.

"The level of support from the fans doesn't surprise us at the moment. They've been outstansding and there has been an emphasis on connecting with the supporters ever since the new owners arrived. It goes all the way through from players to coaching staff, from office staff to supporters and the town.

"Safe journey to all those travelling up. We'll be giving it our all to come back with the points."
