BOSS ON THREE POINTS AGAINST THE ALEX

28 November 2021

"I'm delighted with the three points but I'm not delighted in the manner we went about it"

Paul Cook admitted Town made harder work of today's three points than they should have done.

After opening the scoring after just two minutes, a superb goal from Bersant Celina extended the hosts' advantage before Crewe pulled one back through Chris Long in the second half.

The Railwaymen threatened late on in what was somewhat of a nervy finish, although Town had squandered chances that would have put the result beyond doubt.

"I'm delighted with the three points but I'm not delighted in the manner we went about it," Paul told iFollow Ipswich.

"We missed chances that would have calmed things down, so it was always going to be a bit of a nervy finish.

"You could feel the tension in the stadium. I understand it because that's how the team makes the supporters feel at the moment.

"We have to try and take that away, but there were moments of quality and it was a fantastic goal from Celina just before half-time.

"The most important thing was the three points, but like in other recent games, we showed some good bits and some not so good bits."
