Joe returns for Cod Army clash

Paul Cook has confirmed that Joe Pigott will return to the matchday squad for tomorrow's visit of Fleetwood Town.

The Blues striker has missed Town's last two outings, after his father sadly passed away before the Cambridge clash almost a week ago.

“For anyone to go through what Joe’s just been through in the last week is very tough," Paul said.

"Joe was very close to his father. I know his dad watched him play all the time and he was very proud of Joe.

"My advice to Joe would be to get out on the pitch as quickly as possible, and score those goals that made his dad so happy and proud.

"He'll be in the squad tomorrow and hopefully we can see that at Portman Road in front of our fans."

Asked what challenges three games in a week could bring in terms of squad selection, Paul added: "I think three games in a week is a challenge.

"To an extent you're damned if you do change the team and you're damned if you don't. Especially when you look at examples like beating Doncaster at home and then travelling to Accrington.

"For me as manager, I really enjoyed us on Tuesday night. You never want to be deemed a tinker man in any shape or form. Will we put the same team out? Watch this space."

Tickets for tomorrow's visit of Fleetwood are still available to purchase here.
