"Confidence is a big thing and the lads are confident"
Paul Cook has highlighted the importance of confidence ahead of tomorrow's trip to Accrington Stanley.
The Blues head to The Wham Stadium on the back of a 6-0 victory at home to Doncaster Rovers, while Stanley fell to a 5-1 defeat against Oxford United last time out.
"As you can imagine, the players don't need managing after a result like that," Paul told iFollow Ipswich.
"The main thing to do is bring them back down to Earth as quickly as possible. You enjoy those nights but then the focus turns to the next game.
"In football you need to let the pain sink in when you lose, and then also embrace the joys of wins. We know which one we prefer!
"Tuesday was good for the players' confidence but they also gained confidence from the games against Sheffield Wednesday and Lincoln. We controlled large parts of the Wednesday game and they enjoyed it.
"But then the supporters also left the stadium with a smile on their face on Tuesday. It's probably a long time since we beat a team like that, and they will have loved it.
"Confidence is a big thing and the lads are confident. We had to stop shipping goals and the last three games we have built a platform to build on.
"We know what challenges Accrington offer and we've got the utmost respect for them. We're ready for a test."
