BOSS LOOKING TO BUILD MOMENTUM

8 October 2021

"This is a league that is littered with freak results every weekend; anyone beats anyone in the division"

Paul Cook hopes that Tuesday's Papa John's Trophy win at Gillingham can be the start of a succession of results that see Town climb up the League One table.

The Blues picked up seven points from a possible nine before falling to defeat at Accrington last Saturday.

With just four League One games taking place across the international weekend, Town's boss is hoping his side can continue a new run of wins beginning with Shrewsbury tomorrow afternoon.

"Before Accrington, we were three unbeaten, we’d won two and drawn one," Paul told iFollow Ipswich.

"You’ve got to keep these runs going.

"We won at Gillingham so we’re up and running again. We’ve got to make runs last longer and we’ve got to stay unbeaten for longer but we know how difficult that is.

"This is a league that is littered with freak results every weekend; anyone beats anyone in the division.

"For us, the challenge is to put in another performance that leaves our supporters happy and put together another little run that makes sure all of us are a bit more happy."

Tickets remain on sale for Town vs Shrewsbury at Portman Road here.
