PAUL | A LACK OF DESIRE

2 October 2021

"You shouldn't go from the highs of Tuesday night to today, but we have"

Paul Cook gave an honest assessment of this afternoon's defeat to Accrington Stanley.

A first-half strike from Macauley Bonne had Town in front at the break, but goals from Colby Bishop and Harry Pell saw the hosts complete the turnaround and take the spoils at The Wham Stadium.

"There was one team that showed hunger and desire and wanted to win," Paul told iFollow Ipswich.

"The other thought they could just turn up and win.

"We were miles off it today and it was such a disappointing performance.

"We didn't create enough chances, or have a sustained period in the game. There was also one team winning every second ball - we can't become a team like that.

"You shouldn't go from the highs of Tuesday night to today, but we have.

"It's just not good enough, but we'll be working hard to bounce back."
