Boss on Argyle defeat

Paul Cook thanked the supporters for their backing in this afternoon's clash with Plymouth Argyle at Home Park.

More than 1,500 Town fans made the long trip to Devon, with goals either side of half-time seeing the Blues fall to a 2-1 defeat after George Edmundson had opened the scoring with his second goal of the season.

"I'm desperately disappointed," Paul told iFollow Ipswich.

"We had fantastic travelling support once again, and the game got off to a lively start.

"It was end to end and Plymouth test any team that goes there. You couldn't make up the time we gave the goals away, but it is what it is.

"We had some great chances and we believe we should have had a penalty, but we can't give ourselves mountains to climb.

"One thing for sure, though, is the supporters are great. I can't say they're necessarily enjoying the ride, because it's a rollercoaster, but their support was brilliant."
