SAM | IT'S AN HONOUR TO CAPTAIN THIS CLUB

29 October 2021

"I want to be the best possible captain for the Club, and I will be giving my absolute all to try and help us be successful this season"

Sam Morsy said he is "incredibly proud" after being named Town's first-team captain.

Paul Cook confirmed last week that Sam, who has played under Paul and skippered sides for the now Blues boss in the past, would be given the armband.

"It is a massive honour," Sam said.

"I'm incredibly proud and I don't take these things lightly. I've been privileged enough to captain teams in the past and it's brilliant.

"I want to be the best possible captain for the Club, and I will be giving my absolute all to try and help us be successful this season.

"As I say, I've been captain before and you hope to develop from one club to the next as you gain experience. The fundamentals are always the same, though, in terms of having a winning mentality and leading by example.

"I'll be trying to represent the Football Club as best I can."
