WES AHEAD OF SHREWS CLASH

8 October 2021

"Yes they are tests, but it is definitely an opportunity to spark the season into life"

Wes Burns is hoping Town's next two fixtures provide an opportunity to get the Blues' season properly up and running.

A 6-0 home victory against Doncaster last Tuesday set the standard, but defeat away to Accrington followed at the weekend.

Next up is a home test with Shrewsbury tomorrow afternoon, with Town then travelling to Cambridge United seven days later to take on the U's at a packed out Abbey Stadium.

“No disrespect to Shrewsbury or Cambridge but they are games we look at with a view to taking all three points," Wes said.

"We’re at home on Saturday and away at Cambridge, which we know is a bit of a local one, so we’ll be looking to win both and take six points.

"Yes they are tests, but it is definitely an opportunity to spark the season into life.

"All the lads will be focused on the next game and we're looking forward to tomorrow afternoon at Portman Road."
