Three points and a clean sheet on the road
Macauley Bonne's fifth goal of the season saw Town pick up their first win of the campaign away at Lincoln.
The Ipswich-born striker headed in on the half-hour mark to open the scoring before a stern second half defensive display sealed the points.
Bersant Celina made his second debut for the Club after returning on deadline day while Vaclav Hladky, Janoi Donacien, Tom Carroll and Scott Fraser were also named in the starting XI.
Celina and Fraser combined for the first opening of the game, the latter receiving the ball from the Kosovo international before his low cross was just out of the reach of the sliding Bonne at the back post.
A combination of George Edmundson and Cameron Burgess had to be alert 10 minutes later to throw their bodies in the way of Chris Maguire's effort from inside the box.
Town came inches away from the opening goal of the game with just under half an hour played as Bonne directed Lee Evans' header back across the box onto the underside of the crossbar.
Bonne and the Blues had the ball in the back of the net just 30 seconds later, however, as the striker met Hayden Coulson's cross with a powerful header which flew past Joshua Griffiths in the Lincoln goal.
The next chance fell the way of Wes Burns but the wide midfielder could only blaze over from a tight angle after Celina's reverse pass played him in behind the defence.
Lewis Fiorini had the home fans prematurely celebrating moments later but his shot from the edge of the area went into the side netting.
Imps manager Michael Appleton was booked after the half-time whistle for demonstrating with the officials.
Lincoln thought they'd equalised early in the second half after Regan Poole had volleyed a back post cross past Hladky but the hosts' defender was offside.
Town were dealt a blow a few moments later as Coulson was forced off through injury, Luke Woolfenden replacing him and moving into the middle of the defence, with Burgess shuffling across to left-back.
The hosts continued to see plenty of the ball as Lewis Montsma was the next to try his luck, his piledriver flying over the top of the bar.
Town could've doubled their lead midway through the half following a slick counter-attack. Evans began the move with a perfectly-timed tackle in midfield, before substitute Rekeem Harper's pull-back was taken off of the toe of Burns by Cohen Bramall from six-yards out.
The Blues continued to look dangerous on the counter, Griffiths saving well from Fraser's right-footed strike from next to the penalty spot.
Lincoln had the majority of possession late on but Town held on for a first victory of the 2021/22 campaign.
