POST-MATCH REACTION FROM PAUL

11 September 2021

"At a club like Ipswich Town results like today are not acceptable"

Paul Cook spoke to iFollow Ipswich after this afternoon's defeat to Bolton Wanderers at Portman Road.

"The most frustrated people will be the supporters," the Blues boss said.

"We have a habit of lifting our fans, then flattening them. We score good goals but football is about two things - when you have the ball and when you don't have the ball.

"We're quite good with the ball and we're not very good without it - of course that has to change.

"The result is on me and I shoulder all of the opportunity. I'm seeing things that I don't understand because I don't see those things in the week.

"At the moment we function like anything but a team. What we are offering is not good enough. There is no getting away from that. At a club like Ipswich Town results like today are not acceptable.

"We have to go away, lick our wounds, and do what we can to make things right."
