"We're up and running now and we needed that win last week"
Paul Cook said achieving success at Town would be the highlight of his managerial career.
The Blues boss has achieved promotion as a manager with three teams before taking on the role at Town, and will now be looking to add to his personal honours list while at Portman Road.
"The welcome I've received from the Ipswich community has been absolutely first class," Paul said.
"That goes for all the staff as well. The fans have been brilliant.
"You'll always get negativity because that's the way the sport is, but in general the positivity towards us has been absolutely fantastic. It has to be something that drives us on.
"If we need more motivation, which I don't particularly think we do, delivering success to these fans would probably be the highlight of my career.
"We're up and running now and we needed that win last week. You could feel how important it was in the stadium and to the fans.
"That's gone now, though. It's on to Sheffield Wednesday. We have games coming up quickly and you don't have much time to reflect or lick your wounds.
"We'll play tomorrow and then it's straight on to Doncaster. Before you know it we'll be up at Accrington. That's nine points to play for and we'll see how many we can get.
"Let's start with tomorrow and let's try to get three."
