Kosovan's Crewe cracker picks up gong

Bersant Celina’s memorable finish against Crewe Alexandra has been named as the Club's Goal of the Season.

The Kosovan’s strike, which was announced as the winner at this evening’s End of Season Dinner, was chosen out of four nominations.

Santi’s goal came in first-half stoppage time against Crewe at Portman Road in November, a game the Blues went on to win 2-1.

The 25-year-old brought down a 50 yard pass from George Edmundson with a perfect first touch before chipping Crewe 'keeper Dave Richards from 25 yards.

When reflecting on that goal back in December, Santi said: "As soon as I hit it, I knew it was going in.

"I’ve scored some good goals in my career but this one was everything at once.

"With the 'keeper back-tracking I took my chance and luckily I got just the right power on the chip, it was a really great goal to score in front of our fans – definitely the best I’ve scored."

For the Women's team, Blue Wilson's stunning solo effort against Crawley Wasps collected the Goal of the Season award.

Tonight's End of Season Dinner took place at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall and was hosted by former Town midfielder Simon Milton.

The men's Goal of the Season award was sponsored by Greene King, with the women's award sponsored by Magnus Group.
