EARLY CREWE TEAM NEWS

Updates on Sone, Matt, KVY, Wes and Lee

Sone Aluko and Matt Penney are both major doubts for Saturday's away fixture at Crewe, Kieran McKenna has confirmed.

The Blues boss also said that a decision will be made on Wes Burns tomorrow, after the wing-back picked up an ankle knock against Wigan in midweek.

Kane Vincent-Young, having returned to training last week, will travel with the squad to Mornflake Stadium this weekend while Kieran also provided an update on the fitness of Lee Evans.

"Sone has a knee injury from the collision he had in the Rotherham game," said Town's manager.

"It will probably make it difficult to get him back on the pitch for Charlton. It’s not a major injury but it’s one that might take a couple of weeks to settle.

"Matt Penney picked up a heavy dead leg in the first half on Tuesday and he’s very doubtful for Saturday. There are a few other knocks from those who have been playing a bit more.

"Wes got a heavy knock on his ankle that he managed to play on through on Tuesday, but there is a little bit of bruising there. We will have to make a judgement on how he is for Saturday.

"Kane Vincent-Young will definitely travel with the squad. He’s trained for a week so we feel like he’s ready to be involved in match action.

"Lee Evans is not back on the grass yet so it is looking difficult, but we’re not ruling him out for the Charlton game just yet."
