"We will continue to build and improve the matchday experience for supporters next season"

Town have been named as the EFL's Kin + Carta Family Club of the Year for the first time ever.

The Blues were announced as the winner at this evening’s EFL Awards, with MK Dons and Sheffield United being the other two shortlisted clubs for the off-the-field accolade.

The Family Club of the Year Award honours the club that is leading the way across the EFL and continuing to push their standards to provide the very best experience for families and young fans.

Throughout the 2021/22 campaign, the Club has placed a great emphasis on making Portman Road a welcoming environment for families as well as supporters of all ages.

Initiatives such as Junior Blues and First Time Fans have continued to grow, while the matchday FanZone at Portman Road is more popular than ever before.

The Club continues to strive to be as inclusive as possible, having partnered with #HerGameToo earlier this year alongside Conor Chaplin being named as an ambassador for Rainbow Tractors, Club's LGBTQ+ supporters group.

On winning the award, Town’s PR Manager Dan Palfrey said: "We’re absolutely delighted to be named Family Club of the Year out of 72 clubs.

"As I said when originally nominated, a lot of hard work from people across the Club has gone into winning this award.

"It’s fantastic that the Club’s efforts to engage with families and young supporters over the 2021/22 season has been recognised.

"We will continue to build and improve the matchday experience for supporters next season."
