"I would not be surprised if he gets the fans' player of the year as well"

Janoi Donacien has heaped praise on Town teammate Wes Burns.

Wes, who was named in the Sky Bet League One Team of the Season, also secured a double scoop at the Club's End of Season Dinner on Tuesday as he collected the awards for Corporate Sponsors Player of the Year as well as Players' Player of the Year.

The Supporters' Player of the Year will be announced after Saturday's fixture with Charlton, and JD, who has formed a strong partnership with the Welshman down the Blues' right flank, said he would not be surprised if Wes made it a clean sweep.

"I would not be surprised if he gets the fans' player of the year as well," JD said.

"He fully deserves his place in the team of the season and the other individual awards he has picked up.

"I think Wes could get another award on Saturday and good luck to him.

"I expected it from him this season to be honest. He has been on fire and this has been the best year of his career so far. It's no surprise to any of us that he is being recognised."

Wes revealed at the End of Season Dinner that he had voted for JD for Players' Player of the Season and the defender said it is nice to receive recognition from his peers.

"It’s always nice to be recognised," JD added.

"We're a close group and we all get along. I've received some recognition from the supporters as well this season which is also nice. It's good because I have worked hard to have a strong season."
