"It was a good night for the development of this team"

Kieran McKenna said there was 'plenty to take' from this evening's 2-2 draw with Wigan at Portman Road.

Conor Chaplin and Sam Morsy were on target for the hosts under the floodlights, with Will Keane netting a brace for the Latics.

After Keane fired the visitors in front just before half-time, Chaplin's strike and Morsy's volley saw Town complete the turnaround before Keane's effort four minutes from time saw the spoils shared.

"It was a good game and the performance was outstanding in large parts," Kieran told iFollow Ipswich.

"There is certainly plenty to take from it. There is loads that we can be proud of and build on, and then a few areas that we need to improve as well.

"The most pleasing me for me is that we were a goal down and then we managed to get two goals. It was big for the confidence of the team that they know there are goals in this side.

"There were ups and downs but plenty of positives for sure, and it was a good night for the development of this team."
