BOSS ON BRILLIANT BACKING

21 April 2022

"We want to give the fans something to get behind and we want to give them a result and performance to celebrate"

Kieran McKenna says the level of support from the Blue Army this season has been nothing short of exceptional.

Town have had crowds of more than 20,000 for every home game since Kieran was appointed, while the fans have followed in their numbers on the road for the entire campaign as well.

More than 1,300 supporters are also set to be joining Town for the final away fixture of 2021/22, the Blues taking on Crewe at the Mornflake Stadium this weekend.

"The level of support is special," Kieran told iFollow Ipswich.

"We need to be so grateful for it, because it has been exceptional. The support the other night against Wigan was fantastic, and the crowd really got behind the team but also responded to how the team was playing. The away following all season has been brilliant.

"If there was ever a question of motivation, in terms of what we are playing for, it will be right in front of us on Saturday. We want to give the fans something to get behind and we want to give them a result and performance to celebrate.

"I have been told season ticket sales are going really well and again I want to say thank you. We are realistic with how this season has gone, and we know where we need to improve, but the other night it felt like the supporters could see that we are getting close to a team everyone wants to see.

"The supporters are right behind us and we all want the same thing."
