"We’ll be coming back mid to late June to get a long pre-season in and it’s something I am really looking forward to"

Town will visit Loughborough University for a training camp in pre-season ahead of the new campaign, Kieran McKenna has confirmed.

Andy Rolls had previously revealed that the Blues were hoping to go to Austria but had ultimately opted to remain in the UK this summer.

While tomorrow's game against Charlton marks the end of the 2021/22 season, preparations for the 2022/23 campaign are already under way.

"We’ll be in and working on Sunday," said Kieran.

"There’s not much of a break as such for me and we’ll be working straight through.

"We’ll be working towards recruitment, developments at the training ground and how we take things forward. Overall, it is important to keep improving in every area and all aspects, on and off the pitch.

"We’ll be coming back mid to late June to get a long pre-season in and it’s something I am really looking forward to. We can’t confirm all of the dates just yet but we will be going to Loughborough University for a training camp and that should be good for the group."

The opening weekend of the 2022/23 Sky Bet League One season is scheduled for the weekend of 30 July.
