Another double for Welshman following fine debut campaign at Town

Wes Burns has been named as the Club's Player of the Year for the 2021/22 campaign.

The wing-back was announced as the winner at the Supporters Club’s Player of the Year awards event, which took place in the FanZone following today's game and was hosted by former Blue Darren Ambrose.

Wes, who picked up the award having topped a vote amongst supporters, made 40 appearances this season, with his brace in today's 4-0 victory Charlton taking his goal tally to 13, the highest at the Club.

Janoi Donacien, a regular and consistent performer in the Blues' backline, finished as runner-up to his colleague down the right flank.

It was a double scoop for Wes this afternoon, who was also named as the Ultimate Members Player of the Year.

Those two accolades follow the Welshman winning the Players' Player of the Year and Corporate Sponsors Player of the Year gongs at Tuesday evening's End of Season Dinner.

Wes' fine debut campaign at Town previously earned him a place in the Sky Bet League One Team of the Season.
