"We’re still speaking about it now, nearly a week later"

Conor Chaplin says that he was blown away by Jason Schecterle's recent visit to the Club, describing the talk as the most inspiring two hours of his life.

Jason, a former police officer turned public speaker, is a member of and represents the PSPRS Trust (the Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement System), the ultimate majority shareholder of the club.

Last week, across three sessions, he delivered a talk to every player and member of staff at the Club, detailing his miraculous story of running towards, and indeed triumphing through, adversity.

Jason's inspiring speeches reminded Club personnel that their values and attitudes must align to Ipswich Town stakeholders - the fans of the Football Club, as well as those of the people that PSPRS represent.

"I think everyone that was in attendance throughout the whole Club was blown away," said Conor when reflecting on Jason's visit. "It was incredible.

"It’s the most inspiring two hours I’ve ever had. We’re still speaking about it now, nearly a week later. It was such a good experience and I was so grateful to have had that time with him.

"Picking out just one thing is tough because there are so many lessons and values that you can take from him. The most amazing thing was his outlook on life. He has a full responsibility mantra in terms of not looking for excuses and only controlling what you can control.

"One of the most humbling things about it was how lucky he felt to be in front of us, and that was completely reciprocated by all of us."
