4,848 fans enjoy pre-match entertainment ahead of Trotters draw
Nearly 5,000 supporters entered the FanZone at Portman Road ahead of last weekend’s 2022/23 season opener against Bolton.
Last season, the record FanZone attendance was broken on five different occasions.
Its popularity, which contributed to the Blues being named as the EFL's Kin + Carta Family Club of the Year for 2021/22, has continued into the new campaign, though, with yet another record-breaking weekend.
In total, 4,848 supporters entered the FanZone on Saturday, toppling the previous record of 4,421, which was set for the final game of last term against Charlton Athletic.
A number of new improvements have been made for the new campaign, including an outdoor screen showing the early kick-off, a matchday presenter and the introduction of special guests, which at the weekend saw Carlos Edwards reflect on the team news and mingle with fans before the match.
FanZone activities and vendors will be revealed ahead of each home matchday on the Club’s website and official social media channels.
