First event on 6 October at Portman Road
A brand new comedy night comes to Town later this year, as the Portman Road Venue presents its new Suffolk Punch Comedy nights from October.
The Club has teamed-up with prestigious stand-up comedy promoters ComedyNova to bring some of the UK’s most talented comedians to the Sir Bobby Robson Suite across the coming months and into the new year.
The inaugural Suffolk Punch Comedy night will take place on Thursday, 6 October, with serial-prankster and acclaimed comedian, Simon Brodkin (aka Lee Nelson), the headline act.
Also featuring at the first Suffolk Punch Comedy night in October will be a whole host of established and emerging comedic talent, including Sol Bernstein, Steph Liang, and Ipswich’s very-own Aaron Jay, who joins as the night’s rising star, with Louie Green MCing the event on the night.
Instrumental to bringing Suffolk Punch Comedy nights to life has been Ipswich Town’s Director of Venue, Stuart Cox, who commented:“Live comedy is always a great night out, and we are really pleased to be working in partnership with ComedyNova who are lining up more great acts over the coming year.
“We will look to hold these events every quarter, with us also looking to host a large-scale comedy event on the Portman Road training pitch next summer.”
Promoter for Comedy Nova, Paul Johnstone added: “We are extremely excited to work with Ipswich Town to bring Suffolk Punch Comedy Club fantastic TV acts of now and the future and what a fantastic venue to show off this talent.”
Tickets for the first Suffolk Punch Comedy night on Thursday, 6 October are just £15 and can now be purchased on tickets.itfc.co.uk.
