"They embrace the players and we've got to give back"
Bersant Celina and Dom Thompson gave up their time to meet children at a Portman Road Soccer School this afternoon.
The Soccer School was one of many activities that the Club's Community Trust have been running during half-term, both at the home of the Blues and across the local area.
Community Trust Soccer Schools incorporate a mix of fun games, training sessions, the use of inflatables and mini tournaments.
Santi and Dom joined in with some small-sided matches, giving advice and encouragement to the children who were aged from six to 12.
Following the conclusion of the session, the first-team duo handed out awards to the participants before signing autographs and posing for photographs.
Reflecting on the visit, Dom told the Club website: "It was nice to see the kids. To have the opportunity to get involved and be a part of it today was great.
"You've got to buy into the community Club culture and the town itself. These are the fans that come to watch us every week. They embrace the players and we've got to give back.
"I used to join a lot of summer camps and things like that when I was an aspiring young player myself. It's good to see the smiles on their faces; it's a good feeling for both them and for me."
