Trio on Sunday's clash

Bonnie Horwood, Abbie Lafayette and Sarah Quantrill have given their thoughts ahead of Town Women's FA Cup fifth round meeting with Southampton on Sunday.

The Blues made it to this stage courtesy of a 1-0 win away to Newcastle in the fourth round, with the girls now looking to go one better than their 2019/20 cup run that saw them knocked out by eventual winners Manchester City at this stage of the competition.

The Goldstar Ground in Felixstowe plays host for this weekend's tie, with a strong attendance expected for the 2pm kick-off.

Bonnie Horwood, midfielder:

"It would be great to see as many of the fans there as possible on Sunday.

"We need them to be our 12th man, as they have many times already this season. It should make for a great atmosphere and an exciting game. Both teams are eager to reach the quarter-final of the competition.

We would love to see as many of the Blue Army there on Sunday, making as much noise as possible to help drive us on.

We really do appreciate all the love and support from our incredible fans."

Abbie Lafayette, midfielder:

"We're all really excited. We know it's going to be a tough game but we are looking forward to it.

"We've had some good performances ahead of this one, so we're confident and want to keep the momentum going.

"The fans can give us that extra push, but we are already really motivated to try and reach the final eight."

Sarah Quantrill, goalkeeper:

"It's a chance to reach the quarter-final for the first time in the Club's history and perhaps set up a meeting with a Women's Super League club.

"We're doing well in the league but so are Southampton. In terms of the head to head between us this season, it's one each, so this Sunday is a game not to be missed.

"The fans have been amazing this season and to get a record crowd at the Goldstar Ground on Sunday would be incredible.

"There's every chance it could be a special day for everyone connected to Ipswich Town."
