WES | ONE GAME AT A TIME

3 February 2022

"We're focusing on each specific game, and trying to take three points from every one really"

Wes Burns said there is a collective frustration that Town have been unable to win three games in a row this season, but emphasised that the group is taking it 'one game at a time' and he remains confident that the Blues can end the campaign in strong fashion.

Although three successive victories evades the team this term, Town have won four of the six matches since Kieran McKenna arrived, and will look to build on that this weekend when Gillingham visit Portman Road.

"We wanted to go to Hillsborough and pick up three points last weekend, so of course it is frustrating," Wes said.

"It's the three wins in a row thing that we can't quite seem to get over at the moment, but it's just one of those things.

"But we’ve said as a team that if we can win two games in every three between now and the end of the season we’ll be there or thereabouts in terms of the play-offs.

"It would be nice to go on a little run and win a few in a row, but the focus is very much on one game at a time. We're focusing on each specific game, and trying to take three points from every one really."

"We have the quality and strength, so it's on us to go and do it."
