BOSS | POSITIVES TO TAKE, BUT NOT ENOUGH CHANCES CREATED

29 January 2022

"It was poor concentration from us and it proved to be key"

Kieran McKenna said the first goal was always going to be crucial at Hillsborough this afternoon.

Town were beaten 1-0 by Sheffield Wednesday courtesy of a sixth-minute volley from Marvin Johnson.

The Blues enjoyed the majority of possession, with most of the action taking place in the home side's half, but clear-cut chances were few and far between.

"We came here wanting to win and didn't, so we're disappointed," Kieran told iFollow Ipswich.

"I thought there were some positive aspects to the performance, though. We controlled bits of the game and started well, but let them score with their first meaningful attack. It was poor concentration from us and it proved to be key.

"We had lots of possession in their half and took the ball bravely, but didn't create enough chances.

"Positives to take from individuals and some of their performances, but certainly a lot to work on ahead of next week."
