"I’m sure he’s going to have a successful career at Ipswich and as a coach"
Kieran McKenna has heaped praise on Town's head of goalkeeping, Rene Gilmartin.
Rene originally joined the Club to assist John McGreal when the former Town defender was named as interim manager back in December.
The 34-year-old has remained with the Blues following Kieran's appointment.
Asked how happy he has been with working alongside Rene so far, Town's manager said: "I'm really pleased. I’ve made that clear to Rene and the Club that I’m delighted to have him here.
"He was appointed by the Club before I came in so I didn’t know too much about him before that, but I’m delighted to have him and couldn’t be happier with that appointment.
"He's a young coach with good experience who is hungry to improve. He's knowledgeable but also wants to develop himself as a coach and as a leader.
"He wants to develop the goalkeepers that he’s working with and also the goalkeeping department at the Club.
"I’m sure he’s going to have a successful career at Ipswich and as a coach and he very much fits the bill here."
