"Jon Nolan and Hayden Coulson are the two recovering from longer-term knocks, but other than that we have had a big group out at training"
Kieran McKenna said the first-team squad at Town has a 'clean bill of health' and is in a good position ahead of Saturday's clash with Gillingham.
The Blues were last in action against Wycombe nine days ago, and have used the break in fixtures to spend plenty of time on the training pitch at Playford Road.
"Thankfully there is no illness in the group at the moment," the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.
"We have lads coming back from injury as well, which is really good.
"Jon Nolan and Hayden Coulson are the two recovering from longer-term knocks, but other than that we have had a big group out at training.
"Some of the lads will need a bit more time to build up fitness and robustness through training but we have a healthy group and everyone is itching to get back out on the pitch.
"We can only pick a squad to travel, but it's good to have options and over the next few months, I think everyone will have a part to play.
"It was disappointing that the Lincoln game [New Year's Day] was called off as we wanted to carry forward momentum from the Wycombe win, but we have used the time at training well and every session has been useful. Now we are looking forward to Saturday's match."
The full interview with Kieran will be available on iFollow Ipswich this afternoon.
