"They have a mixed threat and it's easy to see why they have a good home record"
Kieran McKenna says Town are relishing the challenge of a weekend trip to Sheffield Wednesday.
The Blues take on the Owls at Hillsborough, with just one place separating the two sides in the League One table.
Town occupy eighth spot having won four of the last five, with Darren Moore's Wednesday in ninth, one point behind.
"Sheffield Wednesday have a strong team and a strong squad," Kieran told iFollow Ipswich.
"They also have a good manager and a good record at Hillsborough. They look to play forward quite quickly, and they have physical players all over the pitch.
"Players like Massimo Luongo and Barry Bannan like to get on the ball, but they can also go long and get plenty of crosses in. They have a mixed threat and it's easy to see why they have a good home record.
"But it's a challenge we are relishing and very much looking forward to. The players are excited and we want to go there and be tough, resilient but also show a personality and impose our style."
Just shy of 3,000 Town fans are set to make the trip to South Yorkshire on Saturday, with Kieran full of praise for the travelling support since his appointment as manager.
"The fans follow us all over the country and we really appreciate it," he added.
"I can't speak highly enough of the support. We packed out the away end at AFC Wimbledon and have plenty coming up to Hillsborough as well.
"The home supporters will be very vocal and they'll try to get on top of us, so having a strong away following is a big boost.
"I wish all the supporters a safe journey up to Sheffield. Hopefully we can put in a strong performance for them and get the result we all want."
