"There was quality to our goals, and some of the football across the whole game was really good"
Kieran McKenna praised Town's attitude and work ethic following today's 4-0 win over Gillingham.
The Blues got off to the perfect start when James Norwood turned home after eight minutes, with Wes Burns doubling the visitors' advantage just five minutes later.
Macauley Bonne added a third in the 23rd minute, before Conor Chaplin put the icing on the cake with a late penalty after Joe Pigott had been fouled inside the box.
The three points in Kent means Kieran has won his first two matches as Town boss, keeping two clean sheets and scoring five goals in the process.
"Even with a 4-0 lead we were chasing every ball," Kieran told iFollow Ipswich.
"The attitude and work ethic from the lads was brilliant. There were lots of pleasing aspects about today's performance.
"There was quality to our goals, and some of the football across the whole game was really good. The first three goals were impressive from a team perspective, and it was good to see the movement and coordination from the lads - both things we had been working on.
"We got a little bit sloppy towards the end of the first half, and invited a bit of pressure, but we responded to that well and were very professional in the second half. We kept them away from our goal and didn't give them any chances, so I enjoyed that about the second half and how we kept hold of the ball.
"Overall it was really good, particularly scoring four goals and keeping a clean sheet, and we move forward."
