LUKE VARNEY CYCLING FOR CANCER CHARITY

17 January 2022

Best of luck to former Blue taking on cycling challenge

Former Blue Luke Varney will be tackling a mammoth cycling challenge in March.

The striker, who turned out for Town on two loan spells and on a permanent contract in 2016/17, is cycling the Cheshire Cat Long Route, in an aim to raise funds for Cyclists Fighting Cancer.

The charity supports children and young people with cancer and donates new bikes, equipment and adapted trikes to aid fitness and wellbeing.

The route will see Luke, who recently retired from professional football, ride for 167km and tackle plenty of hills on a course that can take up to 10 hours to complete.

Everyone at Ipswich Town wishes Luke the best for his training and the challenge.
