MATT | WE'RE GOING UP THERE WITH CONFIDENCE

13 January 2022

"It’s vital that we carry on picking up points to nudge us closer to the play-offs"

Matt Penney said the focus shifted to Saturday's trip to Bolton straight after last weekend's victory at Gillingham.

The Blues put on a show in Kent and picked up a deserved three points with a 4-0 victory, and now head to University of Bolton Stadium looking to make it three wins from three under Kieran McKenna.

“We have to build on what we have achieved in the last two games," the left-back said.

"We will go to Bolton looking to win. It’s vital that we carry on picking up points to nudge us closer to the play-offs.

“I didn’t play against Bolton earlier in the season but I know the lads are looking to right some wrongs. We've had better days for sure.

“Nobody likes losing so convincingly at home but I think we’re a different side now and we can go up there with confidence.

“If we can play as well as we did to beat both Wycombe and Gillingham I think we’ll have a great chance.”

Tickets for Saturday's clash with The Trotters, which kicks off at 3pm, remain on sale here.
