Full-back arrives at Portman Road
Town have completed the loan signing of Dominic Thompson.
The full-back, who has featured twice in the Premier League this season, joins from Brentford until the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
Dominic, 21, is a product of the Arsenal academy having signed a schoolboy contract with the Gunners in 2012.
He signed professional terms at Emirates Stadium in June 2018, but made the move across London to join Brentford in August 2019, signing a three-year deal with The Bees.
The first half of the 2020/21 campaign saw Dominic make nine appearances for Brentford, with a loan move to Swindon then following in January last year.
Five days after penning a deal at the Energy Check County Ground, he made his debut for The Robins at Portman Road, providing three assists on the day.
Having made 25 appearances for Swindon, Dominic returned to Brentford in the summer ahead of this season, and he will now look to complete the campaign in strong fashion, with regular football at Town.
“This club can give me a platform to grow," Dominic told iFollow Ipswich.
"Ipswich came on to my radar two or three weeks ago and I am really happy to have the move done.
"I spoke to the manager and the first chat I had with him really inspired me. I'm really looking forward to working with him and the group here, and hopefully developing my game.
"I've been checking the results recently and I know the team has been playing some really good football. I want to play my part now and help the group push for promotion."
“I’ve known Dominic for a while, having been at Arsenal as a youth player,” Town boss Kieran McKenna added.
“He is hungry to develop as much as he can, and he has already had a loan move so has experience in this division.
“He’s a good fit for the position because he’s a competitive defender but he can also contribute and have an impact higher up the pitch.
“Dominic is a good addition to the squad, and we’re delighted to have him with us until the end of the season.”
An interview with Dominic will be available to watch on iFollow Ipswich this evening.
