"I wouldn’t want to be with another group of lads"

Cameron Burgess says that Town’s pre-season training camp at Loughborough University was tough but rewarding.

The Blues’ first-team squad and staff travelled to Leicestershire on Monday to step up their preparations for the 2022/23 campaign.

As well as gym work and team building activities, the players put in plenty of work on the grass, including double-sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Following an in-house game on Saturday morning, Kieran McKenna's squad travelled back to Suffolk and will resume work at Playford Road tomorrow.

"There were plenty of heavy days," Cam said.

"We worked hard and enjoyed it.

"It was tough but also rewarding. We worked on our fitness but also did tactical bits and had plenty of time on the grass.

"We did the same level of intense training that we got used to last season, which is obviously going to build up that level of fitness.

"We have a good group of lads here. Everyone has a laugh and everyone is good company. I wouldn’t want to be with another group of lads, that’s for sure."

Town's next pre-season fixture is at home to West Ham on Tuesday night. Tickets for the fixture at Portman Road are available here.
