"We got the goal we deserved and we maybe could’ve got more"

Lee Evans said Town's second-half performance in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Millwall warranted a better result, but that the trip to The Den was a pleasing one on the whole.

Benik Afobe put the hosts in front after 16 minutes in the capital, with Freddie Ladapo equalising early on in a second period that the Blues largely dominated.

Kieran McKenna's side went close to a winner on multiple occasions, most notably when Sone Aluko's thunderous strike crashed against the crossbar in the dying moments.

"It was good and I enjoyed it," Lee, who got another 82 minutes under his belt against the Lions, told the Club website.

"In the first half, we could’ve been better at times, but we were coming to a tough place and playing against a midtable Championship team. You always know you’re in a game when you come to Millwall.

"I think we all came in at half-time thinking that we could do a bit more and have a bit more influence. I think we showed that in the second half.

"We got the goal we deserved and we maybe could’ve got more as we played a lot of football in their half. Overall, it’s a pleasing day which sets us up for Tuesday."
